Whistling noise from driver side window

Hey guys,

Yesterday I noticed that after 100kmph my driver side window/door makes a whistling noise. I thought that I didn't fully close the window, but it was all the way up. I didn't find a gap or feel any air. Does anyone have the same issue? I'm wondering what this may be?

I think its the side mirror as the wind flows past it. I tend to here wind noise over all from that area, but not whistling.

Hear, not Here sorry I saw too late to edit it after the fact
The CHR is noisy period!!!!! Purchased ours a month ago and have had nothing but problems with it. Never had such "Buyers Regret" in my life and I have owned about 20 vehicles in my lifetime, most of which were new purchases. This is second Toyota. Purchased a new RAV 4 Sport back in 2006 that we kept for 6 years before getting rid of it. It too was a piece of crap, but not nearly as bad as this CHR.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE IN CANADA UNTIL TOYOTA GETS THEIR CRAP TOGETHER WITH IT!!!
Hi there, I recently traded in my Rav4 for the 2018 C-HR and it has totally ruined my toyota experience due to that ridiculous noise in the driver window/door. I’ve taken the car back to the dealer for “repair” twice already and they have not been able to fix it nor figure out the cause. It is absolutely unbearable! Plus having to go back to the dealer basically every week- I’ve had the car for less than a month and I can’t stand it. I have videos of the noise. Ironically, the loaner the dealer gave me while they repaired my vehicle, another C-HR, has the SAME defect but on the copilot window/door! Did you resolve your noise issue? I’m still dealing with it, going crazy over here...
I mean whistling from the window should just be as simple as replacing the weather stripping or adjusting the door/window positioning. I'm sorry to hear that you guys have been so dissatisfied with the CH-R as a result, and I can't believe how difficult it is for Toyota to find a solution. Please let us know if a remedy is found.
I just came back from the dealer, they gave me another rental, same issue on this CHR rental, noise coming from the driver window while driving. Technitian is not sure what needs to be done, we test drove the vehicle again, for the 4th time and he thinks the back window is also making noise and not the driver window at this point. They’ve taken the car in again for repair, they’ve replaced 2 pieces already and the problem persists... this would be the 3rd repair in less than a month. I’m in Florida, and you guys?
I have regular wind noise, but never whistling. What about areas around the door, like the mirror and its trim? Could the whistling be coming from somewhere around there? is are seeping in through the door/fender gap area and coming up through the door somehow? Does it immediately stop by cracking the window? Just trying to spitball on places it could be coming from.
Same issue here in EU. For early models there seems to be a TSB with upgraded part about it.

Seems like replacing the weatherstrip didn't really work when it comes to the whistling. At least that's what those other owners are saying. so it's back to the drawing board for Toyota.
With how many owners that seem to be experiencing the issue, hopefully we see a recall from Toyota. Not sure what they could do aside from opening up the door panels and placing better sound proofing.
I have in-channel side window deflectors and I feel that the wind noise is more pronounced with them inserted compared to stock. I really don't have any "whistling" per se, just wind noise. Someone with this problem might try putting these into their vehicle (it must tighten up the seal since they take up volume in the channel). Might be worth a try just to pin down the cause?
A smart suggestion as we've yet to see a real fix from Toyota. I wonder if anyone on here experiencing the whistling noise, has those sort of deflectors installed already.
I have the same problem and so far I have not figured out a complete fix. I have soundproofed the doors and trunk and although it has reduced some wind noise, it has not fixed the main cause. I had the Toyota seal replacement done, but that did nothing to fix the issue. This is really starting to drive me crazy. The whistling is the worst, because once that gets in your ear it becomes very, very annoying - perhaps even dangerous.

I'm in Germany and what I don't like is how they try to act like this is normal and my complaint is uncommon, as if I am the only one who has ever complained about this. They say since other C-HRs have this noise issue that makes it normal and not a problem. I mean, seriously, I can show you the email where the customer service guy actually says this!!!!

If anyone comes up with a real solution, I'd love to hear it. I do believe the mirror is a major cause. Also, I can confirm that the window deflectors which you insert into the window's seal make the noise worse. Anyone tried the wind deflectors from Toyota?

Why is the mirror a major cause? You're talking about the side mirrors right?

Well, at least, I think so. I taped all the gaps around the joint of the mirror to test and it seems that cured the whistling part of the noise, but not the entire wind noise. So, it looks like it's a combination of things.

I also think the wind hammers the windows and if I am not mistaken, the windows themselves are thinner than usual. The reason I say this is because I have never heard rain the way it hits this car, the drops hit the car like little missiles, so clear and distinct as if the windows are super thin. I'm sure there's a legal thickness to glass, but I think Toyota pushes it with the glass in this car. I have soundproofed the doors and trunk, and added extra rubber seals around the doors and I still hear clearly what's happening outside the car.

Trust me, if the interior mirror is making the whistling noise,
you've a very big problem. >:)>:)>:)

I believe Marvel's DareDevil has the same hearing like you. >:)

Will be changed at factory from VIN: NMTKZ3BX90R 069.663 or higher
Sadly my VIN is below that, so maybe I should email my dealer and see if they can change it.
