Just received my dash cam... Rexing V1P. Thinking about placing it on the shroud that covers the rear view mirror/camera but, there are some "slits" at the very front of that shroud. Does anyone know what those slits are for? Are they the microphone? Temperature sensor? I don't wanna cover them if it's a necessity. And where did you place your camera? This model has a rear camera also if you could give me a recommendation for that too please...

I installed it this morning... I did indeed place it directly behind the rear view mirror on the shroud. Doesn't seem to be any problem with the microphone... And the view is fine from there. Hardly noticeable behind the mirror as I'm driving. Also, the wires are alot less noticeable running along the black plastic up to the header. Rear camera was quite easy to install as far as hiding the wires are concerned. Only had to remove the upper-most panel on the hatch door. I placed it at the very top of the rear window. Quite happy so far...

Nope. Didn't need to. Camera placement doesn't interfere with any mechanical movement (visors, rear view mirror) at all. 😁

Sorry I meant the side window rain visors. I do not see them on your vehicle anymore unless is just the angle of the pic.

The original one Toyota offers. They also put it in, not a clue how they connected it...

Wiring in my car is hidden through the roof console; i guess via the A-pillar connected somewhere under the dashboard.

PD, if you look at the side view mirror, you can see that the in channel visors are still in place...

Do you notice yours restarting randomly sometimes? I think it's my SD card needing reformatting and/or replacing lol.
