Doesn't bigger wheels and tires beyond your stock diameter tend to make your car slower and mess up your odometer reading? I'm looking to reduce wheel gap down to at least 2 fingers. I have R-SR lowering springs with stock wheels and tires and I still get at least 4 fingers between fender and top of the tire.

I ordered a set of 18x8.5 +38 offset. I know these aren't bigger than the stock 18" wheels but I'm concerned with how much they stick out, if at all. I compared the stock wheel to the aftermarket wheels I ordered and Wheel-Size.com says:

Wheel-Size.com said:
Tire will stick out 12mm farther. Rim will stick out 31 mm farther. Make sure that you have enough room under the fender. If not, consider narrower tires or higher offset
So I'm hoping 31mm doesn't make the wheels stick out past the fender. I'll go outside and measure, but if anyone has similar width and offset that can chime in, that would be great.
