Transmission needed to be replaced.

I have a 2018 CHR with 37k miles. I started hearing a whining noise coming from the front end. So I replaced both front tires thinking maybe they were the problem. When it didn't work I scheduled an appointment to have the transmission inspected (as I suspected that was the problem). Sure enough. The guy said "You're getting half of a new car".

There was no explanation for the failure.
So what's happening with the current failure?
Attempting to get Toyota Canada to replace it again….or at least help me with securing a new vehicle. Beyond frustrated at this point.

I see they’ve discontinued CHRs as of this year…

Only for the North American market - current C-HR for UK / European market is still available to factory order & an all new C-HR launches later this year but not for your part of the world.

Toyota's choice of power unit & transmission for the North American market C-HR wasn't one of there smartest decisions.

How did you get them to cover this even though the car was out of warranty?
The real ones know if you call Toyota national and can prove it's a defect you don't have to really worry about the fine print but prepare a good response. Proving it might be the hardest part but thanks for mentioning the component that failed in your ch-r. ;) Get them to agree keep escalating manager ^ mention safety drivability finally get it in writing an email is fine. print it out and head to the stealership. Your not asking for free service but a fix for a manufacturer defect the bill by request should be sent to Toyota national. It's a great company power train warranty or not they listen if you explain the issue well enough 👍
Have you seen this petition yet? Please sign the petition for recall! We need all the help we can get to prove we are not at fault and should not be responsible for replacing the failed transmissions! My service rep quoted over $11K to replace! This came after replacing tires, replacing brakes, several balances, like many of you have described. All of this detective work was for the same noise that I asked they check at each service visit, including the 60K service package in which transmission fluid is supposed to be flushed!
