Steering has no center

Are you saying that the wheel will continue turning without much input from the driver?

Not sure exactly what is going on but it sounds to me to be a couple of things. Either the steering angle sensor or the electric motor that's for the power steering and lane assist.

Oh and did the shop reset/calibrate the steering angle sensor after they performed the alignment? If not, that's probably your problem.

Thank you for following up on this. Yes, any write up you can provide on what you did would be great. In case others want to do this themselves or change the steering feel.

I'm ok with how the stock settings are. If I want heavy, I'll drive my BMW 135i. LOL. If you want a heavy steering feel, that's your car. Some have complained about how heavy the feel is over on the 1Addicts forum. The responses we give to those complaining....hit the gym. LOL.

I should check to see if my scan tool has the ability to reset/calibrate the steering angle sensor for my C-HR. I'm sure it has it though. Paid enough for the damn thing.

Thank you for the write up. I'm going to have to look into that alignment tool you have. I've been wanting to have something where I can do alignments (at least get it close) after doing suspension work. This may be exactly what I need. I've seen another solution which uses an iPhone pressed against the wheel/tire for alignment. I don't have anything iPhone nor will I get one just for this.

Thanks for the update. I thought you were dealing with the lane departure system forcing the steering wheel in a direction it thought was straight. Had no idea the steering input was due to vagueness with the front end. Surprised the alignment shops didn't do a physical front end check to make sure there isn't any play in the suspension components. I do periodic checks of the front end when I do a tire rotation for exactly the reason you just discovered. But glad it's finally fixed.
