I don't really have any suggestions for you needanewcar.... Wish I could help... Mine just come on when I push the buttons... Are you sure that yours is equipped with that option? I think that the demo I drove initially (non-xle premium), wasn't equipped but my recollection is that it didn't have the buttons either...

I've had a few cars with a heated seats (both leather and cloth), it usually takes about 2 minutes for them to get warm. If they don't work you better talk to your dealer, it's probably some kind of electrical problem.

Sometimes even the heating coils have to go through a break in process which is just you using them more, so maybe give it some more time before going in to the dealer.

If it keeps up after a few weeks of being consistently used, then i'd say you have a real problem on your hands.

Thanks for all the replies.
Tried the seat heaters a few more times. Nothing.

I'll get them checked during my 8,000km maintenance check AND my third recall issue. Something to do with the parking break.

Still too bad that something as simple as this is a problem. If its a similar part to other Toyota models then odds are we aren't the only ones having this problem. New Camry owners might be it the same boat

So my seat heaters are now nice and toasty. OMG how did I survive through a cold winter without them in my old car. lol

Apparently they put the fuse in the wrong spot!
Good to hear! Glad to have you rejoin the toasty-butt-club.

in Canada the premium and base grade both get heated seats. but also in Canada the base grade gets cheaper 17 inch wheels. where as in the usa only premium gets heated seats but the base grade gets 18 inch wheels. very interesting.
