Question About My Smart Key Keyless Entry

If the battery in my smart key goes dead I know I can still enter my CH-R but will it still start with the dead battery in the smart key?

I found this interesting guide on what to do if your fob is out of battery, never knew there was a kind of sensor behind the button.
Last week after an update to the Touch GO software, the car somehow "lost" connection with the keys.
Only solution was indeed holding the key against the START button and pressing the START button at the same time.

FYI the batteries are type 2032. :)
Thank you very much for the information. Now I will know what to do if this happens.
I know most cars have gone the way of the keyless fob entry/ push start activation but I have to admit that I miss the feeling of putting a key in and cranking it. There was no concern back then on whether or not your key was low on battery aha.
