It’s a pioneer 2330 nex model. I used a axxess aswc-1 for steering wheel controls but to keep from splicing wires I bought the plug and play Metra ax-toy28swc to work with the axxess aswc-1. Everything works on the steering wheel like it should. This thing is awesome. I bought everything on Crutchfield.com

No antenna needed. The one in the phone works just fine. Everything works. No issues.

Looks great man, thanks for sharing where you got the parts from. I think this is the most common mod to date on here, which really reinforces how much Toyota dropped the ball with the stock set up.

yes their stock head unit is made by pioneer. You’de think they would have put more thought into this system.

How would I go about installing this? Should I go to a mechanic? Or you could do it on your own??

I know that it's been almost two years since you did this, but I'm planning to do the same for my 2018 CH-R, was it tough?? Would you recommend me to go to a car shop or it's doable for a person with no experience?

Highly depends on what you want. I think 2018 is standard cabling and size ... I'm trying to integrate the wheel control with the idatalink maestro so i'm currently stuck waiting for them to support it.
