Hey Everyone!
Just purchased my 2018 iceberg/blue eclipse XLE Premium (US) and I LOVE IT so far!
I am a small framed, 56 yo male (I know...I am not the market demographic!) and the interior fit is perfect!
I'm attempting to register my vin on the toyota site...Its not being recognized...Has anyone else ran into this problem?
So far, the only thing that I don't like is the infotainment system and its bluetooth integration. I'm hoping to find a techie on this who can help me hack it with Android Auto (not a ifan at all...no offense to anyone)...
Hope to get some insite into everyones experience and hopefully give some of my own once I become familiar with it more...
I registered on weathertech.com and awaiting for Side Window Deflectors to be available (the windows drip like crazy onto the armrests during a rain if they are even slightly down).
Hope to meet some groovy folk...Cheers!!

Welcome to the forums and congratulations. You actually mentioned one of my huge pet peeves so I'll definitely have to tend to that asap when I'm ready to pull the trigger (rain dripping onto armrest thing).

I'm currently waiting for my local dealer to get their hands on an XLE Premium as they only had an XLE available at the moment.

Unfortunately I cannot help you just yet but soon!!

I'm sure you could also take it back to the dealer and get them to setup your phone though?

Thanx IRREGULAR!
I had no problem connecting my phone, it just seems so limited as to what it can do... The generic and limited responses to text messages is one of the inadequacies that I see in the infotainment system. Would be nice if the voice recognition could actually transcribe a custom message. Maybe I'm missing something but I can't figure it out!
Also, it seems really limited as to its voice recognition, responses. 80% of the time it doesn't know what I'm asking her to do...
Good luck my friend on getting your premium. I must be lucky, my dealer got me one the next day here in Central Ohio!

Welcome to the forums and as well, congratulations on receiving your C-HR! Voice Recognition tech typically does erk the heck out of me as it almost never gets anything right. After a few attempts, I feel the urge to rip the infotainment screen out and chuck it out of the window haha!

That certainly seems to the case with the voice recognition in this system iRobot but I know adequate technology is in the wild presently. Both Amazon and Googles systems are pretty impressive regardless of what you request of it. My expectations are obviously less for this device but it still falls far short in my opinion n.. Happy father's day!

Happy Fathers Day to you as well! Wasn't able to get on the boards yesterday, but nonetheless :)

A lot more people do need to be as open minded about these things as you are though. I find the vast majority of people tend to get excessively upset and it just ruins the whole experience for them.

It all depends on how the system was programmed so as you use it more you might find that certain ways of pronouncing words will have a greater effect on the system.

Might help to watch a Toyota demonstration and see how it works for them.

You would think that they'd test and program these systems to recognize as many accents and different ways of speech though before rolling it out as a global product. Sending it to such culturally diverse places, this is to be expected.
