Have had this car for a month or so now. I have tried several USB thumb drives formatted Fat32. the MP# player will only play one song over and over and over. The browse function is grayed out. When I try a different USB stick, I can browse and pick one song, afterwards, the browse function goes away again and the same song plays over and over. Is there an update that needs to be applied to this radio? I do not expect this from Toyota, this is terrible.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new car. The stock head unit is definitely one of the worst aspects of the CHR and many owners have resorted to aftermarket systems. Looks like they are going to be addressing these concerns with the next MY.

Hi, Will USB work when in Park? If u r in Drive mode you can only perform a few functions. This is a safety feature so the driver is not distracted and drives their car into someone.

I would confirm that you are running the latest software in your car. Fat32 is definitely the format you want to be using, but there are also restrictions on the size of thumb drives. Are your songs coming from a Windows or MAC computer? You will also want to restrict the number of folders that you are using. The less the better.

Seems like there's also no shortage of this issues happening. Even overseas models are suffering from it. At least we're not alone but unfortunate its so widespread
