Infotainment System...???

Hi all!!
Could someone please tell me what the infotainment system in the 2018 C-HR XLE Premium (US) is called? Mine has no navigation.
Is it the Entune? or something else?
I cant find ANY information on this.
Additionally, how would I find firmware upgrades if available? The Toyota website is a nightmare to navigate (when it works at all!).
My head unit has "AXLP-Q18U T10159" printed on its face. Googling this returns no relevant hits at all!
Thanx in advance!!

I was going to drill a hole in the pillar, but my drill bit were dull as ****. So I pulled the gray harness clamp out and use a round file to elongate the hole some, than on the bottom I removed a trim plug and did the same with a round file and cut an notch in the hole to run the wires. where the wire went thru the holes I put some extra heat shrink just in case. I also put in a inline fuse also just in case. I finish with foot well lights last night. I changed out the dome lights with LEDs as well.

DrZeus, basically the same as GOOGLE maps but offline and our updated from time to time. No video transferred yet, which is what I want. I am using a HUD right now. When the app is in HUD mode, you only really get turn directions displayed and the turn by turn call outs are spoken thru the system over the music and if you are on a call. Not perfect but works better than nothing at all.

I have been searching in vain for a way to mirror my phone on this screen. I'd guess the NAV module for the Scion can be used but I'd prefer to not drop $900+ and be wrong. The PT296-12160 (16 appears to refer to a date code) may work but I'd guess the firmware version would need to be downgraded on the headunit or upgraded on the NAV module. I'm not sure if there is a 12170 or 12180 variant currently.

Ideally, at least for my purposes, screen mirroring from my phone would work well but there doesn't seem to be a kit available.

Sad, this is a very fun car and Toyota dropped the ball on this when they made that headunit choice. My wife's Sienna has Scout GPS Link, which is next to useless but still light years beyond Aha (which has limited "what's around me" mapping from what I gather).

I fully agree jmac! Excellent high tech vehicle yet the infotainment system is indeed subpar. I'm a geek (that's why I ended up buying this ride), and for some, it's probably sufficient but for the people that seem to be buying it, we expect more from such a machine. Hope you guys can figure something else out or... Maybe Toyota is listening?.... Don't make us pull out the stock and buy someone else's equipment!

I purchased a pt269-12170 for my C-HR on ebay...his ad showed one hooked up to a pt546-1c182 radio exactly the same as the C-HR and it worked as you would expect...especially since this kit is called out on the 86 and the im for the same radio. I have no idea why Toyota doesn't list this as an accessory on the C-HR. Since the nav unit itself is obviously compatible the only thing I can think of is fit...so I pulled off the bezel to see if there is room and it looks like there is plenty. I'll let everyone know what I find.

I have been researching navigation units. The other former scions that share this radio both list the pt296-12170 as a compatible unit. There is an ad on EBAY that shows one of these actually connected to one of our radios. So why doesn't Toyota list it as an accessory? Space? I pulled the bezel off and it looks like there is plenty of space. So I bought one on ebay to try it...I'll let everyone know.

it's official....the pt296-12170 works just fine. The radio automatically adds the nav functions as soon as you plug it in. The only issue I had was the brackets...I had thought the brackets were made to fit, but they didn't. I taped it together for now until I can figure out some bracket extensions. I suspect the pt296-12160 or pt296-00160 would work as well because it has exactly the same hardware...but the software differences might keep it from being compatible. If you are interested in finding on ebay, just search for pt296-12170 or pt546-1c182. The kit I received was like new...never opened. Don't know where he got them, but they are coming from Sealy, Texas...where there's a parts distribution warehouse and there was a recent flood...don't want to draw too many conclusions. Sorry about the dog photo bombing my picture but you can see that it works.

it will have to wait till I get home...can't do ebay from my work computer and can't make this site work on my phone. I can't figure why it's not working for you...I searched with that criteria and got both hits...both auctions...one with the radio, one the nav unit by itself...maybe you had it only searching for buy it now or used items.

Actually, I was asking the seller questions about it because it was the first time I had actually seen confirmation that a pt296-12170 would connect to a pt546-1C182 even though I really knew it would...and he offered to sell me just the nav unit offline. turns out he had 3 of them...or more.

North American version uses Pioneer AVH-2558zt head unit. There is no firmware update as far as I know. There is an expansion module you can buy (about $700+ USD) that will add navigation to the factory unit. However for that kind of money there are plenty of aftermarket units that have MUCH more options than the factory unit can provide.

The expansion module is a part number PT296-12170, basically plug and play unit that piggybacks on the radio and adds nav to existing HU. As for aftermarket go to Crutchfield web site and pick and chose any double din NAV radio. For the $700 plus you can pick a unit that will have NAV as well as CarPlay and even iDatalink. IData can be integrated to car functions like displaying tire pressure, engine functions etc. So for the money you can have much more functions than just NAV. Many gust already have don the swaps and there is plenty of threads on the forum with pictures as well as many details. Good luck.

iPhone MirrorLink on 2018

There's a USB input that allows the HU to read my phone. Not to mention the Bluetooth connection. All steering controls & microphones integrate perfectly. My question is: Shouldn't it be possible to Mirror-Link our iPhones to this POS Infotainment system?
Hi, may I know what USB it is? I want to try it in my chr also. Thank you
