I doubt that it's possible to make this feature inactive. It's generally against the law to have a video running that is viewable by the driver, for obvious reasons. Well, at least in FL.

When having this issue with aftermarket units, all you need to do is ground the wire that connects to your parking brake "at your own risk".

in my last truck with aftermarket kenwood deck, there was a blue wire, that if left un-connected, would allow video to play at all times. not sure what the corresponding wire is on the c-hr, but if any one knows or has a schematic they can post please do. i have a 2021 c-hr xle, which although says its suported i ave yet to see it list or play any video files car on or off.

It’s a safety system of the car.And the car manufacturer obeys the law of the driving rules, According to the DMV you can’t operate the car accessories like, radio or Cellphone while you’re driving that could cause distraction of mind while driving. I’m pretty sure when the police officer caught you, you’ll have a ticket.

In California, as long as the video monitor isn't at eye level...you'll be fine (in other words, you can have a movie on while driving as long as the screen isn't above your shoulders).

Question for OP - Does it play video while in park???

I see, correct me if I’m wrong. This is an interesting idea.
