General rule of thumb is that as long as you can undo it and leave no evidence then its a go. However these days with how these systems are built often logs are kept of what was going on, those logs might only be viewable by service centers so its a risky game.
I've never heard of Toyota's infotainment systems being hacked. What except customizable welcoming screen can you modify with a jailbreak? I might consider hacking it too.Does hacking/jailbreaking the infotainment void my car warranty?

if only we can get a copy of the firmware from Pioneer, that would be helpful. We can backdoor it and add new features.
