Toyota’s new crossover seems to have polarizing effects on car buyers, they either love or hate the C-HR and one reason some were shying away from the model was because of its lackluster performance. Well the Japanese automaker is looking to remedy that with a new concept called the C-HR Hy-Power, which is currently on display at the Frankfurt auto show.
At first glance, one can’t help but take note of the concepts bold looks. Sitting on a set of dark chrome finished 20-inch alloys, the concept features a contrasting paint scheme with the A-pillars, mirrors, and roof painted in ‘Burning Orange’. Perhaps tying into the outgoing C-HR’s diamond design, the concept displays some kind of geometric pattern across the aforementioned areas. Completing the exterior look are orange accented headlights and grille.
Extending to the cabin, we see the same hue of orange being used in the upholstery, door arm rests, and it replaces the blue trim across the dash.
Quoted by CarScoops, Toyota says the C-HR Hy-Power Concept will be using a “higher powered” hybrid powertrain. Though no performance specs were released, we can expect it to exceed the outgoing hybrid’s 120hp. Perhaps Toyota will reveal more early next year alongside their hybrid expansion plans.
