Sorry started a new thread for the Infotainment system

I finally decided to pull my unit to see what I have. See the pics attached. I am trying to cross reference this to the 86 and iM units that have the back up camera and Nav in the display.

Was easy to get out, started pulling the trim from the lower right and it came right out.

The hunt is on to see if I can get the back up camera on this unit and off my mirror.

Fantastic Chuck! Please follow up with us... I'm excited to see what's going on in there.... Good luck,
Will I found a little more information. It appears it will cost big bucks to add the GPS/NAV. You have to add a external module to the display unit. See attached link.

See prices from $550 to $750, all indications this should work. I am waiting on responses from both Pioneer(Thailand) and Harman(Germany) on this unit.

This is killing me, I am going to spend the $15 with TIS and get the wiring diagrams for both the Scion FR-S and the C-HR. I am waiting a call from my dealer to make sure the C-HR is loaded before I do. Once I know the camera pins we can move forward.

I have been looking at aftermarket units, but nothing so far that is plug and play.

Awesome info! Thanx a lot! So the $600 upgrade utilizes the same head unit but just adds a peripheral device? Keep up the sleuthing for me please. You've done much more than I have been able to achieve!

I just ordered and installed this radio
www1.crutchfield.com/p_158XAV100/Sony-XAV-AX100.html?tp=20217&avf=Y(sorry new to the site)

all i did was put the what fit my car as a 2017 toyota 86, i got all the parts that go with the installation part from bestbuy and now i have android auto, apple carplay in my car
daOne,was there any cutting and splicing or were you able to get adapter harness to make this work. Your 86 already had a backup camera correct. I just check TIS and it is showing a 24 pin connector but noting like it is showing for the iM. both the iM and C-HR are showing the connector part number. your does not. that is strange.

could you post some pics of what you pulled and did you take any of the installation.

My project, I have the drawings I need. Issue I am having is finding the connectors. I can get them at the dealer but the **** pins must be made of gold, $13 bucks for 1 pin with about a 1 foot piece of wire on it. not doing that. will keep digging will post when I have everything together and I know it will work.

wasnt concerned with the rear camera since mine has it on the rear view but i purchased the following pieces,

Metra 95-8202 — Kit (snug fit but covers the whole)
PAC RP4.2-TY11 — Wiring Harness, Steering Wheel Control, Radio Replacement Module
Metra 40-LX11 — Antenna Adapter
Metra AX-TOYUSB —

sorry no pics of removal or installation.
Fog lights wiring diagrams

I was in TIS and forgot to down load the Wiring Diagrams for the Fog Lights, anyone happen to have them thanks.
C-hr with back up camera on display

TOYOTA C-HR BACKUP CAMERA ON DISPLAY UNIT
The REV trigger wire is already connected in the 28 pinconnector pin 2.
After connecting to you display your rear view mirror willstill try to display the camera than go blank. Once I find a male connector I planon having both connected.
I routed the RCA cable along the passenger side, take youclove box out for access behind that. On the back hatch the rubber boot on theright is where I ran the cable thru as there was nothing in it, you need totake the buttons out of the head liner to get access. The trim pops right onthe hatch.
This link will show how to take the display out, along withother cool item.

I will be adding a XTRON PB76HGTAP

6.95" HD Digital Octa-Core 64bit 32GB + 2G RAM Android 6.0 Multi Touch Screen Car DVD Player Custom Fit for Toyota
Wait, you're replacing the C-HR infotainment screen with a dvd player?
Also, welcome to the forum!
Will have to check this out. Great thanks

I did finish my back up camera project. I now have it on my stock display and rear view mirror.

I power the camera from my display and only use the video line back to my rear view mirror.

Would like more info on the back up display in the radio.
I would like to have it in the radio display and NOT in the mirror.
Perfect fit
Could you please have a brief instruction about how you did install this and if the wheel controls are compatible or not?

Thank you!
@Chuck Chronister Thank you for all the info. I want to do this project too. I really don't like the small screen we get on the mirror for the backup camera. how long would you say this took you to do?

Thank you for all the info.
I gotta do this eventually. I really wish i can use android auto on the stock display.

p.s. what happened to all the buttons? or are those attached to the stock screen
I'd like to ask if anyone has considered an aftermarket (Alpine or Sony) head unit that is Apple CarPlay compatible, which thereby brings the NAV right to the screen via your iPhone? I've looked at 4 different units, and I am close to making a decision... part of the problem is that electronics manufacturers seem to be behind in terms of knowledge of the C-HR, but if you search for units that work with the Toyota iM or 86, our head units are apparently identical in specs/size. I'll be happy to keep anyone updated on my progress... I'm fine with the rearview mirror back-up cam, so that's not ever been an issue for me, but NAV is very important.

I'm hoping that someone makes a kit to put an aftermarket head unit in these cars. I've got almost a full stereo in my attic waiting to be installed in something. The head unit is still in my fiancee's Edge for now.
