Adaptive cruise control

On the Toyota c hr do the brake lights go on when your using adaptive cruise and you set it say using either 3 or 4 car lengths for it to slow down?
And also does the adaptive cruise wear brakes down?

The car uses the brakes (stoplights go on) if the speed difference is to high to use the engine brake. (just like you would lift your foot from the gas pedal)
So yes it will wear the brakes down if the speed difference is to high.
