2018 Toyota chr transmission problem

Bought the car used as a certified Toyota. Luckily the warranty covers 100,000 miles for transmissions. Like the others have mentioned, there was a humming/buzzing sound that started at 70k miles after an oil change. I mentioned it to my service guy and he said that mechanics did an overall with my last service and found no problems. I had 2 more oil changes and no one notice anything. I just bought 4new tires and the sound got louder and a newer circular sounding hum started. After reading this forum, I knew it was a transmission issue. And then, at 91k miles, it didn’t go into reverse. Scary. It recovered a few minutes later but that completely confirmed transmission issue. I’m at the dealer now. 3hr of waiting, they confirmed that a bearing went bad on my transmission and they are going to need to get me a rental. $12k repair he said. Again, luckily, I’m under warranty. $50 deductible. I’m very disappointed in this Toyota. I’m not surprised it is no longer in production.

What year?

Not sure why, but there is some company out there that is selling the variator bearings for the K114 CVT. Too bad not many places repair/rebuild CVTs at all.
