Hi All,

Looking into the Scion iR as my future buy.

Do you know any other competitors for this type of car?

The Honda HR-V and nissan Juke are just a couple of them. Do you have any brands you prefer? What are you looking for in this segment specifically?

I don't really have any preference of brand, but I like the sporty/unique appearance of the car, along with good gas mileage and spacious trunk cargo.

Any suggestions what would be the best between the competitors?

I heard about the VW Golf being its top competitor, but what's the major difference I wonder...

Any suggestions

Actually the iR is supposed to be a city car, so when you consider that and other things in its segment you're quite limited.

So that could even be something like a used SmartCar, it's just about the best city car you can get and being on the used market for a while now, you'll get the most for your money with those.

Here's what a real owner had to say about their SmartCar:

I'm pretty sure that the CH-R is bigger than a smartcar. Maybe I'm wrong. I'd have to look at dimensions.

Yeah, I'm definitely using it for daily commute within the city.

But I like the space of the scion IR. I know it's a bigger car and not ideal within the city.

Just like what that video review said, smart car are great for parking within the city LOL

Are you thinking of getting the IR?

I think that the iR will be fine in the city. There may be smaller cars but not much smaller. The iR gives you a bit more space so that it is more practical than a smartcar.

Yeah, I hope so.

I don't like the smartcar look. Too compact and looked like you're squished in there. Then again, I never sat in one to really judge it.
