Question Idle noise

I just bought a new C-HR and need to know if anyone else has experience a noise at idle, kind of like a fuel pumping running noise. You can rev up the engine and then it goes back to idle and then in just a little bit the noise will start a low pulsating noise. Don't want to return to the dealer at this point if it is a "normal thing" ????

Thanks for your help !

Welcome to the forum. Toyota did issue a TSB awhile back for a noise coming from a vacuum regulating valve. You could confirm if this has been completed

EG-0030T-0317

Subject: Noise from the vacuum regulating valve

Models: AURIS; C-HR

DESCRIPTION OF PHENOMENON: Some customers may experience and report noise coming from the engine compartment.
The noise is coming from the Vacuum Regulating Valve. In some occasions the following DTC is stored in the ECU: DTC P024313 Turbocharger wastegate solenoid A circuit open

PRODUCTION CHANGE: The internal structure of the vacuum regulating valve is changed to prevent this phenomenon from occurring

PRODUCTION CHANGE INFORMATION: Auris NRE185 TMUK December 2016. C-HR NGX10 NGX50 TMMT January 2017

Shorty thanks for the reply. Interesting, although I have a 2019 and the sound is coming from the driver side rear of car. You have to be in the car with the door/windows closed idling. If you gas it up and then back to idle it won't being doing it, then after a little bit, it's like something kicks in and you hear the pulsating sound. I posted this in the wrong place and wish I knew how to move it and where it needs to go. I have about 800 miles on it now, and I must say, I love this vehicle!!
Thanks again for the reply.

Welcome to the forum Lovett. Curious if there has been an update on this 'noise' or if you've just attributed it to being normal. The C-HR is fairly quiet at idle so you could just be hearing things like the fuel pump kicking on. If you had a sound clip that could help with troubleshooting.

Tobias, I do have an update to what I hear (sometimes). As far as I can tell it has to do with the EVAP system. At this point, I don't think it's a problem just annoying sometimes. I have finally realized that it only makes the pulsating/clicking noise at the back of the vehicle after a fuel fill up. The other day after a fill up I parked in the garage and it was doing it. Later drove for a while (got the gas level down some) and it was not doing it. Then I make a point of filling up again just to the point that the pump shuts off (which you are supposed to do anyway). Got it in the garage and it was doing the noise some and then quit. My guess is that the gas tank can be somewhat over full and the EVAP system is purging vapors. I'm by no means a mechanic, but that is what I think at this point. If the gas level in the tank is down some it will not do it. So, for now I think it is OK, but maybe somebody else has another idea.
