Does your dash light dimmer iluminate?

I just bought a new 2019 and noticed that pretty much every button iluminate's at night except for the dash dimmer dial. Is this normal or do I already have a light out from the get go?

Normal. Mine doesn't illuminate. Nor does the factory fog light switch from what I can tell. Which I find more curious than the dimmer. The only time the fog light switch illuminates is when I have it pressed in to turn on the fog lights. And then it illuminates with an amber color and not the blue that everything else is. I haven't received any response from anyone with the factory fog lights to confirm if this is normal or if I may have not wired in a connection correctly when I installed the kit.

I have not. It's interesting Toyota has this ability as this customization is common for BMWs. They call it coding. I have read a few people who have done some customizations to their C-HRs such as having all the windows roll down if you hold the unlock button down on the key fob....if I remember correctly.

Many people who go this route will have their dealer do it for them. I haven't heard of a dealer denying this request. I also don't know if they charge for this or not. I have seen someone with a 2019 have problems where the software the particular dealer had did not show any customization options. The dealer is thinking a new software update will resolve this issue when they get it.

Hoping eventually some company out there will sell a DIY software rig which will allow us to do these customizations without the need of having the dealer do it. BMW has software such as Carly available which makes it easier for the DIYer to do these customizations.

Thanks for the explanation. So I checked around and tried to find such a DIY tool for coding.

After some searching around I actually found a new app from Carly.

Carly is the coding specialist for BMW and they have released an app for Toyota recently.

On their homepage they show a lot of coding possibilities for Toyota. I will check that out.

Many thanks again for your really valuable input. Without this forum I would really be lost

I didn't think to check if Carly supported Toyota. Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to look into what they can do in coding our cars.

Just checked on the Carly site. Yes, there is Toyota support. But they do not list our C-HR as one of the supported models. I guess I'll send in an inquiry on when/if they will support our cars.

I also installed the factory fog light kit and my switch also does not light up and when the fog lights are in it lights up amber as well. Happy to know that I did wire it right and other people also get the same result.
