Any ever change their stereo receiver?

Just wanted to know if anyone has change their stereo before to have Apple CarPlay or android. If so how hard or easy was it? Iíve been thinking about getting a pioneer stereo with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto

I did it a few times with my previous cars (both Toyotas). Pretty easy, especially if you're following the guide. Why do you want to change your basic system though?

Are you talking about this Pioneer system? I heard a lot of positive reviews about it, but it's a bit pricey for me.

It looks similar to that. The one Iím getting is the Pioneer AVH-4000Nex and it is on the expensive side. it cost $700 but lately my local Best Buy has been having it on sale time to time for $300-400 so if I can pick it up for that much it would be worth it

I always thought it would be cool to use a tablet for all this stuff and a quick google search turned up some DIY project people have done.

Iím thinking of doing it. Checkout Crutchfield.com and put in the data for your car. They include instructions on how to change your radio out for free with the purchase of a radio.

There's a user on here (Meedo) who has already swapped out the OEM infotainment system. The thread can be found here Installed 10' Radio Over The Weekend. Pretty sure its Android compatible as well.

Too bad long gone are the days when people installed carputer in their cars. These days its more of the regular infotainment system than anything else.
