Sorry for the rant and I know this is trivial... But I feel like I'm driving a Yugo or a Tata every time I honk my horn. I'm actually kind of embarrassed lol. Not even sure someone else driving could hear the thing. Can I replace the oem horn with say a Ford F-350 horn or something with a little more balls without compromising the circuit? It's sub zero here and I'm not even sure where the horn is in the engine compartment... Would it be easy to swap it out if there is no contraindications for the install... I know I'm being anal...

Had the same.. and have replaced it. You have to remove the front bumper to get access to the horn. Electrical it dont need much you can use same 2 wires.

Agree 100%. I received my replacement horn yesterday, and hopefully I'll do the install this weekend or following. Purchased a Stebel Nautilus Compact Mini Air Horn Black (LINK). As well as a harness, since I rather run the new horn from the battery and not risk the OEM wiring (I'll use the OEM wiring only to cycle the harness relay)

Glad I'm not the only one... Dutch-r- which horn did you purchase? I don't really need an air horn... Just something plug and play that is compatible with existing wiring. Thanks all!

Also a Stebel Nautilus compact as mentioned.. used the original wiring (only grounded it seperate) and also upgraded now a fuse to 20A. (15A blew when used for more as 5 sec.) Now it works great!!

What is with Toyota and their "wimpy" horns? Had to upgrade my horn in my RAV4. Does that horn fit in the C-HR? Had to find a place in my RAV4.

Need to find either a video or someone has a photo write-up on how to remove the front bumper.

I'll give this a try next weekend. Good time to install an aluminum radiator guard, while installing a better horn.. Have on on my 2010 RAV4.

Lol anyone who's owned a Toyota knew this issue would arise with the CH-R. Does anyone have any sound clips of the aftermarket horns that they have installed? And that air horn must get a lot of attention coming from a CH-R aha.
