Recent trademark filing reports seating capacity at four or more passengers:

“seats four or more passengers and is lawful for use on U.S., Puerto Rican, or Canadian interstate highways.”

No doubt, right where that door ends on the C-Pillar it starts to go up into the cargo area... not going to work.

It might however work like a traditional coupe where the front seats have to be moved forward for rear passengers to get in.

Here's a picture of 6 2015-2016 subcompact crossovers: Nissan Juke SL, Subaru XV Crosstrek, 2015 Chevrolet Trax LT, 2016 Honda HR-V, 2015 Jeep Renegade Latitude, and the 2016 Mazda CX-3. They all have four doors. Maybe Toyota will follow the majority and come out with 4 doors too.

Since it's a city rider and not designed for long road trips, I don't think Scion is going to put much thought into the rear middle seat. The iR is supposed to seat 4 or more persons but the fifth rider who has to sit in the middle is usually cramped and uncomfortable in most cars. Think Scion will address this in a city vehicle?
