Just wondering if anyone else has purchased a set of the 3D Maxpider Kagu floor liners. They are custom fit and obsolutely gorgeous as far as floor liners go. I was always a WhetherTech guy but ran accross the 3D Maxpider while researching options for the new CHR. My friends are amazed at the custom fit and refined look of the 3D Maxpider in my CHR. Just posting to get other opinions as well as provide information for those who may be looking for aftermarket floor liners. The attached pic is from a web retailer. I chose a pic that had the black floor liner and tan interior so that you can see the details of the floor liner more clearly.
Holy crap! Those are gorgeous! Would they be easy to clean with all the nooks and crannies? The stock is really hard for me to clean, even with a power washer....
My experience is that the 3D Maxpider is similar to WeatherTech in terms of time and effort to clean. The dirt and mud come off easily with a power sprayer. It does take a once over with soapy water and bristle brush followed by a rinse to remove the winter salt stains that are infamous in the north country. I have had the CHR since the beginning of February and the winter in West Michigan was uncommonly intense during the last half of the season. My wife is a kindergarten teacher and they were off school for an entire week which is very unusual for Grand Rapids. So the 3D Maxpider has seen a good dose of Michigan slush but it does not represent a long term test. If anyone reading this thread has owned the 3D Maxpider for a few years, it would be nice to receive insight into the long term prospect for the 3D Maxpider in terms of aesthetic appearance.
How's it holding up so far. You think you can take some pictures of it installed in on your car? Do you still have the parts number...thanks in advance.
It was surprisingly difficult to get pictures that were accurate. In some cases the blacks look somewhat gray instead of a deep black.
1) The attached pic provides the product numbers from the www.autoaccessoriesgarage.com web site. It is a screen print that I took when I ordered them.
2) This is the link to a folder on the google photo app https://photos.app.goo.gl/4KquhJJFyZ4Z5tzV6 the first two pictures are the passenger side front and passenger side back. The colors and quality of the representation are very accurate to what they look like in real life. The third pic is the driver side back and the colors are starting to differ a bit from real life. You can probably tell by looking at the black in the seats versus what you know the black actually looks like. The fourth pic is the cargo area and it looks very gray when in reality it is black like the first two pics. Not sure why it washes out like that. The fifth and last pic is of the driver front. The colors are a bit off from true as you can see by the black in the driver seat which is washed out a bit. That mat has only been vacuumed since the tail end of last winter. It has not been washed since then. It has seen a fair amount of abuse from being out to the blueberry fields and other inhospitable localities in the countryside - dirt, mud, etc. I will probably wash them soon but it is good to see what they look like if you do not take care of them for a while. lol.
Thanks for the pictures Knight Rider. I may be leaning towards to this product as well. I have been using weathertech since the very early 2000's in all the cars that I have. But it's getting too pricey for me. Thanks again...
Does it shows the obvious wear and tear of the driver's mat after washing? Especially the area where the your right foot is resting (below the accelerator pedal) Pics after washing if it's not too much to ask....but thanks anyway just the same....
Here is the driver side after cleaning with dish soap and water. I am still having difficulty getting pictures that accurately represent real life. The first pic has shadowing and the floor mat is actually a bit more black than the picture shows. The second pic is of the heel area that was requested. The blacks are very washed out in that pic compared to real life. You can see where the heel rests on the mat. I did not put any conditioner on it. You can find a bunch of good videos on YouTube that discuss cleaning and restoration of rubber car mats. Apparently the pros use tire dressing to restore any discoloration. I did not go to that extent with mine.
You can also find a large number of discussions on other forums when you Google on "3D Maxpider". Some of the posts are by folks who have had the 3D Maxpider for a few years. In one YouTube video the person had a Chevy Camaro and compared the 3D Maxpider to Weathertech.
A Google on "3D Maxpider" will also bring up a large number of sellers. Many are on Amazon and others are on eBay. Yet others are stand alone online retailers such as AutoAccessoriesGarage.com
